Upgrading My Wildlife for You

A BIG CAT.

Just on the other side of the glass.

I jumped to my feet and went scrambling for my phone while Mike stood frozen, eyes locked with the cat, who had just realized we were right next to him. By the time I got back with the video rolling, the cat had skittered over to our patch of palm trees in the center of the yard (which I've named "Fronds Ferdinan").  So I don't have the stunning closeup on film that my eyes enjoyed, but you can still see him!

We thought bobcat, and then thought panther and had both confirmed by various people --- but in the end Florida Fish and Wildlife got back to me and confirmed BOBCAT. (I know the title says Panther...but that just sounds scarier, doesn't it?)

So I don't know what I'll have for you next week. Tiger maybe? Hippo? Death Stalker Scorpion? Honestly I'm starting to wonder how I killed 20 years in Maryland. We called our yard there "The Wild Kingdom" because we had so many squirrels and birds... HA! Not even close!!
